To satisfy the dynamic customer base, IFG are committed to innovation. In 2019, IFG invested in a 1.3 million euro R&D plant positioned at IFG Asota in cooperation with the University of Maastricht. The R&D plant, SF1000 is a state of the art, semi industrial spinning line and is also available for company day hire.

The R&D line ensures that future polymer technologies can be tested and researched across a number of sectors and can be developed in a way which will not only meet customer requirements in terms of price and performance, but allow for environmental innovation and bespoke customer product developments.

Designed in cooperation with international biopolymer specialists, the facility allows sustainability and recyclability targets to be met or exceeded, giving our customers a competitive advantage in environmental achievements with a particular focus on Biopolymers in the replacement of oil derived polymers.
